About us

As a charitable company we are committed to ensuring that we employ apprentices in both our schools and central team, ensuring new talent is working in our schools each year. If you are interested in being an apprentice with us contact our HR team for more information.

Apprenticeships, volunteering and Internships

At Discovery we are committed to ensuring that talented people have the opportunity to build their professional practice before fully committing to a full time paid role.

Community Advisory Board Members

Our School Advisory Boards are always on the look out for enthusiastic volunteers to join their team to actively promote and support the school’s vision and values.

Advisory Boards are made up of parents, staff and individuals from the local community and they work closely with the Headteacher to support the development and improvement of teaching, learning and standards in school and ensure they are meeting the needs of children.

Typically, boards meet four times a year, sometimes in the school day, or early evening. Meetings are approx. 2 hours long and time is also required to read supporting papers in preparation for meetings.  There are also opportunities to visit the school to see it in action. No prior knowledge is required, and a comprehensive range of training and support is provided. Anyone over the age of 18 and living in the UK can apply. Appointments are subject to successful DBS clearance.

For more information please contact the Clerk to the Advisory board on 0116 2793462 or email
