On Friday 28th June, around 450 children, parents, staff and those involved in governance from schools across DSAT came together to celebrate at Discovery’s annual awards ceremony.
The Ceremony, now in its sixth year, is designed to recognise the hard work, commitment, innovation and achievement amongst the DSAT family of schools.
This year the event was split into two sections – an early evening ceremony for children and their families, followed by a later staff celebration. The King Power stadium was packed to the gills with excited pupils, waiting to hear if they had won their particular award category – 13 in total - and be presented with a specially designed glass trophy; our runners up were not forgotten, and each received a certificate. The excitement and pride of our winners really shone through, a memory that will stay with them for a lifetime!
The staff celebration was a more informal affair but no less special and amongst the winners were life time achievement awards for Mrs Wright, retiring after 38 years of teaching, 18 of which have been at Kibworth Primary School, and Mrs Hartshorne a member of staff for over 20 years at Danemill.
Paul Stone said “I have been really dazzled this year by the quality of the nominees and am very proud of all the great work going on in our schools. What a fitting end to the term!”
The entire event was only possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of industry leaders and partners, without whose support the event could not take place – Proactive AV, Moir Wade Bespoke Interiors, 3P Learning, Macintyre Hudson, Michelmores, Schools Broadband, Simply Education, Triumph Motorcycles, YMD Boon, Rahmqvist, and Stugress Motor Group.
